Direct Digital
The DCTC Bookstore, in collaboration with instructors and textbook publishers, has created the Direct Digital access program in order to reduce the cost of textbooks. When a class uses Direct Digital, the required materials for the class will be available to students digitally through a link on the course's D2L Brightspace site (access to the course D2L site begins three days prior to the first day of the semester. Look for the Red Shelf link under course materials). Direct Digital access usually provides students with more than just an eTextbook. Direct Digital can also contain online access to tutorials and activities required for the class.
Direct Digital materials cost less than the normal price of the books or access codes, but they are not free. You will see a charge for Direct Digital access on your student bill in eServices.
If you decide Direct Digital access is not for you, please opt out during the first week of the class. The fee will be removed from your bill and your access to the materials will be disabled. You'll still be responsible for having any class materials your instructor
If you prefer to have a printed book to go along with the digital materials, you may order an optional printed "upgrade" from inside the digital content.
DCTC College's Direct Digital program saves students over $100,000 a semester, a number that will continue to grow!
